Since coming to Dubai the Bike has continued to improve. While it arrived safely the R has had several 100 more hours attention!
First things first was to sort the Petrol Tank, while the Tank in the UK had been sealed at one corner with specialist leak compound, as soon as it hit Dubai it literally melted and meant either a new Tank or a welded tank had to be found.
After searching for a suitable repairer I found a new tank in the UK and had it sent over to Dubai for a repaint into Silk Black. Though for a while in Dubai it sported a Bright Red colour scheme which maybe will not be seen again!
It made for an interesting change after several years of Blackness – but ultimately the dark look had to return!
Next to be attacked was the Charging system, which I now suspect was never actually working correctly and had eaten several batteries, including one on arrival in Dubai.
I decided on an uprated 450w charging system from Eurmotoelectrics, which seemed to work a treat. You can read about this more here…

Once that was complete the number plate kept falling off, so time for a new upgraded unit and a more solid bracket and arrangement.
Rattle can Black part one here we come, all carried out in my Apartment car park!

- Professional Tank re-paint – and Side Covers – Satin Black
- Sort Flashers Speed – fitted variable flasher relay
- Sorted Gearbox Engine Gap – fitted Fastback cover from Better Boxer Co
- Sort Crankcase Ventilation – with kit from Better Boxer Co
- Several new Batteries – The heat here kills them
