Long story but time for a new Engine.. all I wanted to do was change the Oil, ended up with a drive full of gunk and a search for a replacement
The head had warped letting the Water into the Oil system – end of Engine…
Well, I sourced an Engine from a popular online auction site I frequent and drove to the Midlands to pick it up and come up with a plan and the energy to replace it.
The K75 is an amazing design where the engine and frame split and the Engine becomes itself one of the first bikes to feature it as part of the structure itself, so the first job is to seperate frame from Engine… then as the Manual says, reverse the procedure!!
Several days of contemplation followed including reading the Haynes section on Engine replace a half a dozen times. Then out with the spanners and off we go… Here’s a few pictures of the in progress and end result.
