So, after a recent 200 mile in a day trip to the Midlands and back – the Bike performed fantastic, except for one of the standard Gen 2 Panniers coming apart at the bottom.
Rather than try and get the parts I decided to get a new set – little did I know that there are 3 generations of Panniers for K Bikes
Gen 1 – Suitcase style locks – Pic here…
Gen 2 – Improved locks – picture here on the bike… note lock profile
Gen 3 – Larger capacity, outward facing locks and bumpers, better handles – pic here…
So I went through a set of Gen 1, before returning them and finding a set of Gen 3 – well worth the extra. Not sure what extra capacity they have but they look more modern and bring the bike an upgrade…
Beyond that I decided after that sustained Motorway speed trip that a Deflector Windscreen was a wise investment, especially considering I’m planning some long trips on it this year and going forward. Found one, end of stock £80… fitted and works a treat.
It’s a National Windscreen Deflector model and fits securely via Rods and Clamps to the handlebars. A quick whizz down the road and it makes a massive difference to wind up to Head region. Result.
I think I’m done fiddling now and am just going to ride it…
