So first things first, assess the beast for work, issues, missing bits and come up with a Plan!

General Condition:

• Frame very rusty, especially Rear Section
• Paintwork average, few nicks and knocks – will need respray
• Tank has a dent or two, and was disconnected
• Battery was dead – fair enough after 10 years standing
• Back end pod had broken through, partly due to Givi rack and weight I’d guess but this had holed the fibreglass
• Rear Mudgaurd had been fibreglassed also – chucked.
• Petrol Cap had been removed – and a spare and lock included
• Rust and Alloy oxidization over the Engine and most fittings…
• Hagon Rear Shock – nice these cost £180 new, though this one was rusty and maybe stiff
• No extra or switches – pretty much the Base model with Silver Drive and Engine rather than Black like my 1991

All in all, pretty much in line with 86,000 miles served commuting on British roads and not too bad.

I sent in the £25 and the form to apply for the V5 – as I type this it just arrived this morning and confirms a fruitful life with 11 former owners!

Missing Parts:

1. Tank to Seat Rubber – it’s the low seat model or a conversion
2. All Footpegs – must have been used
3. Left Hand Footpeg Mount
4. Exhaust Heat Shield

Evidence of any TLC?

1. Well, the Rear Brake looked new-ish, including it’s fittings
2. A former paint job, though pretty average condition

So the PLAN

1. Get it running first – Battery, Fuel and see if the Engine is sound before continuing.

Option A – Engine Runs – Continue

Option B – Engine is Knackered – and I’ve been here before, maybe splt and sell for Spares.
