So getting to the last jobs now… the old screen was chipped and so a new replacement was secured… “why spoil the ship for a hapeth of tar” they say…
That and new control cables for Accelerator and Clutch as they were heavy on action have transformed this area of the Bike…
Cables were from Venhill Featherlight – recommended and while a bit fiddle, Tank removal needed to route them in, well worth the investment…
I’m very pleased with the end result – just sent a Picture to the previous owner, Mario, who said
“Hi
You’ve done a fabulous job, it looks like new! Did the engine start easily?”
Thanks Mario, while the Engine initially fired, various issues have been ironed it to make it run well including:
- New Throttle body intakes – everything cleaned and refitted.
- New Z Pipe – air leaks, notorious for bad running.
- New Accelerator Cables – the original was bent and stopping it from idling well.
Just needs a long blast now to shake down any final gremlins and a UK MOT… will report soon..
