So, off we go into rebuild mode…
1st things first – Gearbox back onto Engine and Clutch actuation relocated… all good so far.
Then offer up Frame to Engine unit… bolt up
Yep – that still fits… next Cooling system. I’ve painted Radiator, cleaned all hoses. Plus – reconnect everything including the fiddly Accelerator Cable behind the intakes and Clutch Cable, plus all ignition and wiring…
Once that’s all connected its only a short nudge to put the Tank back on and put a gallon of Petrol in and see if it fires… short answer – NO.
In fact the Starter relay fused together and it went on turning over until I undid and removed the Earth strap… Urghhh..
So, another sleep, another try… Tank off, earths cleaned and re-tightened and try again. It starts, though its running a little rough. I’d put on the K75RTs original injectors, instead of those from this Bike… I’m not sure whether they are a different size but I decided to strip, clean and paint the originals and refit as the Bike had run OK before stripping down.
I masked them off, wire brushed and doses with some Hammerite… refitted and boom Engine fired up and settle to an even idle… much better.
Next – it’s time to paint some Wheels, strip and paint the front forks and then onto the job I’m not looking forward too, plastics and bodywork painting…
