Well, after a great deal of enjoyment building my R45 into a Cafe Scrambler I started to be drawn to its nemesis – the K Bike, Brick or Flying Brick… but why?
I first ventured into this with the purchase of a K1100RS
– I arrived at the RS after significant online research and it’s potential to swallow continents. After a few rides it was a great Bike but too forward down facing for me with the lost RS fairing and bars – so back to the drawing board.
Again, back to online Blogs, forums and resources – in particular Motobrick.com and I re-settled in the K75.
The experts said that the 750cc 3 cylinder was the better bike, balanced, turbine like and plenty of power… so I wanted the following:
- Upright riding position
- 75 rather than four pot K100
- RT then
Back to eBay and I locked in on an ABS equipped 1991 RT K75 – with some history… click!
But why the K75?
After reading about the K, I was drawn by the negativity, particularly from the Boxer community of which of course I was now a paid up member.
I also was drawn to the technology and advancements of the Bike – as well as the notoriously reliable Brick Engine – which for those in the know was based on a Peugeot 104 Car Engine. Very strange.
